Fàilte!

Welcome, I’m Christine.

I live and practice in Calgary, Alberta. I’m a pelvic health physical therapist, a watercolour artist, and a writer.

I grew up in a small village in Central Alberta, attended university across the country in Nova Scotia, and then lived across the Atlantic in Scotland, before returning to the prairies.

I took a different path to physiotherapy that has provided a broad foundation and many opportunities to develop my skills. I received a Bachelor of Arts Joint Major with Distinction in Religious Studies and Economics from St. Francis Xavier University and completed courses in Kinesiology with a focus in biomechanics at the University of Calgary. I have been a yoga teacher since 2011, and in looking to expand my scope of practice, especially within pelvic health, I chose to obtain a Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta.

Over the years, I have trainined in movement modalities such as Restorative Exercise (Nutritious Movement®), Restore Your Core®, Foundation Training, and numerous workshops and trainings within the yoga community. My current love in the movement world is qi gong.

I trained at the Alberta Children’s Hospital where she was mentored in infant physiotherapy for torticollis, head shape, and motor development before mentoring with Mercedes at Vida Health & Wellness in breastfeeding support and pelvic health. I have continued education in pelvic health, chronic pain, cancer, and gastrointestinal diagnoses and treatment. I have also taken the Ehlers-Danlos Society ECHO program for Allied Health Professionals.

My prior education in Religious Studies, Economics, and Kinesiology prepared me to look at PT and pelvic health in the larger context of culture, society, belief, and perspectives of the human body. I provide a safe space for people to learn about their bodies and health while helping them begin or get back to the activities that are meaningful to them.

I am practicing physiotherapy at Ensemble Healthcare, a multidisciplinary, physician-led team, who want you to feel prepared and supported as you navigate the ups and downs of pregnancy and early parenthood. We are located in the Market Mall Professional Building in Suite 312.
